Sbüll engineering GmbH was founded in 2005. Since then we have been executing electronics development projects for industry with excellent results. Our know-how extends from ASIC design to the complete development and manufacturing of product prototypes. Through our long-term cooperation with research institutions such as the FH-Joanneum, we have been able to strengthen the synergies between the industrial and university environment within numerous projects. Offering comprehensive solutions to our clients is our philosophy. Therefore our activities range from concept engineering, mixed-signal hardware design to the implementation of the corresponding embedded software. In this context cooperation projects with many well-known industrial companies existing up to this day.
Besides product development we also offer focused expert-opinion contributing to efficient problem-solution in electronics development projects. This service is not only limited to development process itself, but also includes analysis of products which are already in the field. Furthermore, we have been dealing with the implementation of tailor-made IT solutions for small and medium-sized companies since our company was founded. In 2015 we relocated our headquarters from Graz to Vienna and founded the brand Supersonic Vienna, another business area of sbüll engineering GmbH. In addition to development and production of high-end audio products, Supersonic also offers world-class restoration of historic tube-radios, music-furniture and vintage HIFI gear.
Richard Sbüll discovered the passion for electronics already in his early childhood and was very determined that this will become his profession. Hence, he attended the college for electrical engineering and power electronics in Kapfenberg. After successfully passing the college and receiving the Hofrat Loidl award for scholarly excellence he enrolled in the Industrial Electronics degree at the University Of Applied Sciences in Kapfenberg. During his studies he was involved with cutting edge research projects in the universities research center and was able to gather advanced know-how in the fields embedded systems and circuit design. In 2003 Sbüll moved to Graz and started an internship at AVL. Shortly after he wrote his diploma thesis at Infineon Technologies and graduated at the University Of Applied Sciences with excellence. In 2005 he founded sbüll engineering executing small electronic development projects. This environment was perfect to develop his business participating in many challenging projects with the industry.
Furthermore Sbüll started to give lectures at the University Of Applied Sciences and joined the university’s scientific staff. Additionally he became a certified expert in the fields personal computers and electronic- circuits and components at the Commercial Court Of Law in Vienna. Thus far he has been the main participator in generating more than 20 granted patents, successfully contributed to many challenging industrial development projects and wrote hundreds of expert-reports in the field of electronic devices and IT systems.
