Feasibility study: Initially a feasibility study of the product to be developed is performed. After an extensive analysis, a detailed product-feature specification and a project-plan including cost and time estimation are created.
Concept engineering: Taking the decision which functionality or feature of your product is implemented in hard- or software is one of the first steps of concept engineering. Subsequently make or buy decisions are made for each hard- and software module defined. Of course all relevant standards (e.g. EMC, low voltage directive) are considered. Finally a comprehensive product-architecture specification is created and reviewed in detail.
Design phase: According to the concept defined, product hardware is designed. Circuit diagrams, PCB-layouts and mechanical parts (e.g. product-housing) are created. Software modules are programmed and tested by using rapid prototyping platforms. Subsequently an extensive design review is performed.
Manufacturing data preparation: This project phase includes the generation of all fabrication files needed to manufacture a first prototype.
